Lesson learned on this foggy Wednesday morning? Don’t compose a blog post about gorgeous food blogs while hungry. I hope you have had your morning coffee and a substantial breakfast because I can’t be held responsible for what you find in your kitchen to consume after you read this post and visit these blogs if you haven’t.
I love food, I love to cook, I love to eat. There really is nothing like a really good meal prepared with love. I think cooking/food is one of the love languages. Really. When I spend time in the kitchen preparing something special for my family I am pouring my love into every ingredient, every step. These blogs help me do it with style and with incredible flavor. I hope you love them as much as I do.
What Katie Ate. This blog is one that I absolutely adore because each photograph is like a piece of art and the food is good too. Her cookbook is one of my faves and currently resides on the coffee table because it is too beautiful to leave on a shelf.
Hungry Girl Por Vida. This blog I absolutely love because it’s not too refined. Along with gorgeous sophisticated meals are fun foods that are delicious and unapologetic in their simplicity or frivolity. I want to eat at her house.
Call Me Cupcake. If you know me then you know the name of this blog along has my attention. This blog is full of the most gorgeous desserts imaginable. There is something so special about the foods created and the gorgeous styling. Even pancakes are elevated to dessert level and done beautifully. This blog is eye candy for sure.
Not Without Salt. What I love about this blog is not only the simple yet scrumptious recipes but the way that Ashley shares about her life and family. Her post about date night with her husband is one that I loved even without the great food and recipes because it was so real. I think we get caught up sometimes in the anonymity of the blogging world where you can portray your life as beautifully perfect at all times and believe that that is really how these people live. Most bloggers don’t show you the pile of laundry hiding behind that pristine white couch, or the dishes in the sink next to that gorgeous plate of brownies. This post was open and honest about the fact that marriage is work. It’s not all sunshine and lollipops. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it’s easy but I really admired the way she was willing to be real with her readers.
Pioneer Woman. Last but certainly not least is the first food blog that I stumbled upon years ago. Yes, her blog is way more than food but it was the food section that kept me coming back for more. Her food is just exactly right for feeding your family. Some of it takes a while in the kitchen(like the soup above, my fave!), I won’t lie, but it is worth it. Comfort food at it’s best.
So go, read these blogs, make yummy food, eat to your hearts content and don’t kill me if you gain a few pounds;)
